Our Gourd Art Cards combine the art of gourd crafting and decorating with the art of handmade greeting cards.

Each card and gourd piece is individually artist signed and dated with the year it was made.

No two cards are alike. The gourd art card you purchase is unique and will be a very special gift. The front of the card may also be framed for a lasting memento. It is recommended to keep the gourd art card out of direct sunlight, as direct sunlight may fade the gourd inks or paint used to decorate the gourd piece.

The cards are made using cardstock paper, and embellished with cut-out pieces of organically grown gourd that have been painted with acrylic water based paint or dyed and stained with gourd ink, pigment powders or wood stain. The gourd piece design has been woodburned (pyrographed) into the gourd. The finished gourd piece is then sprayed with an acrylic sealer for protection. On each gourd art card other embellishments are used that include scrapbooking paper, ribbons, and brads.

All cards will be shipped First Class (3 day delivery) mail with Delivery Confirmation.

Each gourd art piece stands up off the card with foam under each gourd piece for added support. Also used are fragile gourd tendrils and dried flowers.

The gourd art card will not fit in a traditional standard size or oversized card-type envelope, since each gourd piece stands up off the card. The height at which each gourd piece stands up off the card depends on the curvature of the gourd used to create the gourd art piece.

It is recommended, when sending or mailing these cards, to use a padded envelope marked "fragile" or better yet send them in a small box. The gourd art pieces are fragile and will not withstand machine stamping through the post office. The inside of each gourd art card is blank so that you may add your own sentiments.

We offer handmade Gourd Card Gift Boxes for $1.00 with each Gourd Art Card Purchase. Each gourd card gift box is made from cardstock and sized to fit the card.

There are two styles of gourd card gift boxes: Plain or With Color Coordinating Ribbon Ties.
